To kick-off our sponsorship with the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum, Rob Nelson, inventor of Big League Chew, and the Ford Gum team visited Cooperstown this past Memorial Day Weekend to bring Bubble Gum Fun to the annual Hall of Fame Classic festivities!
Friday, Rob Nelson and the Big League Chew team hosted a bubble blowing station during the Hall of Fame Classic’s youth baseball clinic at Doubleday Field. Over 200 ball players received bubble blowing tips from Coach Nelson, and took turns blowing bubbles with our Hall of Fame Bubble Gum! We used our official bubble caliper to measure the bubbles, and awarded 10 finalists with the opportunity to compete for a chance to win an entire case of Big League Chew (108 pouches!) during the Hall of Fame Classic game the following day.
Throughout Saturday, our team surprised baseball fans with complimentary Big League Chew pouches and gum balls as they arrived at Doubleday Field for the Hall of Fame Classic game. We even helped Homer Simpson celebrate his induction into the Hall of Fame!
With the help from Hall of Famers and former MLB players, we welcomed the finalists onto the field for the Big League Chew bubble blowing contest during the game! Baseball fans of all ages cheered on our finalists as they competed to blow the biggest bubble! We ultimately crowned two champions, each blowing seven inch #BigLeagueBubbles!
Later that day, Rob Nelson visited the Hall of Fame Museum’s Whole New Ballgame exhibit, which tells the story of baseball’s evolution from the 1970s to the present day, where an original pouch of Big League Chew from 1980 is displayed.
We look forward to more #BubbleGumFun as we continue our relationship with the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum!
