Rob Nelson, inventor of Big League Chew, and the Ford Gum team brought #BubbleGumFun to Cooperstown over Memorial Day weekend during the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum’s annual Hall of Fame Classic festivities!
During the Hall of Fame Classic’s youth baseball clinic on Friday, one of the eight stops the kids made on Doubleday Field was the bubble blowing station hosted by Rob and the Big League Chew team. Over 250 future big leaguers received bubble blowing tips from Coach Nelson, and competed in a bubble blowing contest with our Hall of Fame Bubble Gum! We used our official bubble caliper to measure the bubbles and awarded 10 finalists to compete for a chance to win Big League Chew and a membership to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Throughout Saturday, our team surprised baseball fans with complimentary pouches of our new flavor Big Rally Blue Raspberry and gum balls as they arrived at Doubleday Field for the Hall of Fame Classic Game. Rob enjoyed interacting with fans and signing cards!
At the top of the third inning, the finalists gathered to put on their official Big League Chew t-shirts and start chewing gum. With the help from Hall of Famers and former MLB players, we welcomed the finalists onto the field for the Big League Chew bubble blowing contest. Isabelle’s Hall-of-Fame-worthy #BigLeagueBubbles earned herself the 2018 Hall of Fame Classic Bubble Champion title.
Later that day, Rob Nelson visited the Hall of Fame Museum’s Whole New Ballgame exhibit, which tells the story of baseball’s evolution from the 1970s to the present day, where an original pouch of Big League Chew from 1980 is displayed.
We look forward to more #BubbleGumFun as we continue our relationship with the National Baseball Hall of Fame & Museum!
